Consisting of Friends Jamie and Tiaan, Wax Beach was Initially formed as a project by Jamie and Tiaan was soon enlisted as a full time member. They started working together on demo productions that would become their debut collaboration Immersion EP with artist and vocalist Irinami (Irina Buzdugan) released on 15 November 2017.
In 2018 Wax Beach released more music featuring various artists and genres ranging from EDM to hip hop, with the first being a collaboration with artist Josh Wantie (released on Gallo Records) and the second being Slow Motion with vocalist Jennifer Nel and rapper Ndrzla.
Their song One More Night gained support from national radio and spent a number of weeks in the number 1 position on 5FM's dance charts and made it onto their top 100 songs of 2018 list.
In 2019 Wax Beach released their collaboration Under (feat. Matt Gardiner) with idols finalist and Durban based artist Matt Gardiner and How Many Likes with artist, Chad Saaiman, who has been performing professionally for over a decade and has graced stages in Cape Town, London, Spain, Johannesburg and several other big cities around the world.
Through their collaboration with Chad, Wax Beach was introduced to artist Kerwin and instantly loved his voice. They collaborated on a funky disco track called By My Side released on 28 Feb 2020, which reached over 100K streams on Apple music and made it onto the top 40 biggest tracks of 2020 on one of SA's most popular radio stations, KFM. The track was also featured in the local film Late Bloomer (Available on Showmax)
After the success of their first collaboration with Kerwin, the trio jumped at the opportunity to work together again and created Bet, which released on 5 March 2021.
Bet was debuted on 5FM and so far has enjoyed support from radio and streaming platforms alike, making its way onto various playlists and garnering over 50k streams on Apple music alone.
In 2022, the duo worked with new up and comer Ryan Cunningham on Slip Away, released on 23 September. The track was debuted on 5FM and went on to gain over 7k streams in its first month
